Cherron Harris-Diagnostic Breast Center Supervisor

My Name is Cherron T. Harris. I am currently the Patient Access Registration Supervisor of the Diagnostic Breast Center.

I was born and raised in New York City. This is where I grew a love for health care and worked for the New York City Health & Hospital Corporation for over 15 years.

In 2006, I moved to the Atlanta area to be closer to family and also continue a career in Healthcare. April of 2007, I was happy to become part of the DeKalb Medical team as a PRN Registrar for the Revenue Cycle division in Patient Access. Within 6 months, I became a full time employee and gained experience in the Diagnostic Imagining Center. Soon after I was promoted to Supervisor and transferred to the Diagnostic Breast Center. Working in Healthcare has truly been an awesome experience for me and I could not see myself working in any other field. I am determined to advance my career, therefore I am continuing my education and currently attending Columbia Southern University.

Nathalie Potter-Surgical admitting Center Supervisor

My name is Nathalie N. Potter, and I am presently the Supervisor of the Surgery Outpatient Registration Department. I have been in the health care field for 15 years; with having prior work experience in a hospital and private doctor offices. I started with DeKalb Medical in July 2013 as a Pre-Certification Specialist, and was promoted to the Surgery Outpatient Registration Supervisor in April 2014. I am presently attending Columbia Southern University to complete my Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration. I am a strong believer in team work, and providing outstanding customer service. The daily goal I set for myself is to come across someone that I could encourage or help in some way.

Shanell Smith-Central Registration Center Supervisor

I have been working in the health care industry for 11 years, exclusively at DeKalb Medical. I began my employment at DeKalb Medical as a registrar in the Patient Access department in 2007.  In 2013, I was promoted to Patient Access Shift Coordinator in the Emergency Department.  In 2016, I was promoted to Patient Access Supervisor of the Central Registration Center.

Working in the health care industry has been a positive experience, both professionally and personally. We have the privilege of helping patients on a daily basis and that’s an incredible responsibility.

I want to bring all I can to DeKalb Medical. I have been inspired to pursue my Bachelor’s degree in Health care Administration.  My start date is May 30, 2018 and I am excited to begin this new chapter in my career.

Tywanna Vicks-Diagnostic Imaging Center Supervisor

I was born and raised in Camilla, Georgia, then I relocated to Lithonia, Ga. in 2008. I have been in the health care field for over 19 years. I started at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga. There I began as a Unit Secretary. After several years on the floor, I moved to the Outpatient Registration and Insurance Verification team. I learned a lot while I was at Phoebe Putney Hospital . That knowledge and experience led me to the position that I am in today. I started at DeKalb in 2008 in Diagnostic Imaging Center as a Registrar. After three years, I got a promotion to Supervisor.

I enjoy taking short vacations and spending time with my family. I am the proud mother of two girls Tiffani and T’Asia. I am a member of First St. Paul AME Church in Lithonia Ga. where I serve on several boards. I also participate in service projects with Open Hands and with Stoneview Elementary School in Lithonia, Ga. My favorite scripture is Psalms 27:1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

I will be furthering my education at Walden University studying Human Services/Social Worker starting June 2018.
