DeKalb Medical Staff (Unit 4500, ICU, ER, Rehab, others)
Staff throughout the hospital are being recognized for saving a patient’s life.
Patient comment: “I am writing to commend you on the care I received at DeKalb Medical Center. I was a patient from March 14-April 3. Nurses in the ER (where my life was saved), ICU, [nursing unit 4500], and in house Rehab Unit were outstanding in their professionalism and their concern for me and my family. I also ask that you let those ancillary people know of my gratitude; i.e. nursing techs, dietary, housekeeping, social service, and those invisible persons who work behind the scene. They always paused to thank me as they exited my room. I have continued to recover at home very well thanks to all of them.”

Parrott. EMT’s were called and the patient was sent to the hospital where she underwent gall bladder surgery. [The patient] wanted to thank everyone for insisting that she go to ER. She is feeling better and was discharged from hospital gall bladder free. Her surgeon stated that it was the worst she had seen and gall bladder was completely dead. Way to Go TEAM! Kudos!”
